Summary: | Wouter Südkamp reports a rare find from the disused clay pit in Bad Sobernheim. It consists of a slab of sandstone preserving three different kinds of footprints. These tracks were made by extinct amphibians and reptiles. The author describes evidence of the trace-maker of Ichniotherium at the Bromacker locality in Thuringia. The paper ends with information about the morphology and mode of life of the first major terrestrial vertebrates and makes proposals for future field excursions. The paper was also published in the Hunsrücker Heimatblätter, number 143, volume 50, July 2010, pages 180-191. Photo: W. Dupuis |
