Summary: In this paper, cnidarians from the Hunsrück Slate are reported. These include the questionable chondrophoran ("by-the-wind-sailor") Plectodiscus, possible comb jellies, a spectacular new scyphomedusan, polyps (conulariids) and phosphatic tubes (Sphenothallus) of uncertain identity. The only specimens that can be assigned with certainty to the jelly fishes are Plectodiscus discoideus and a new rhizostomoid scyphomedusan presented herein. The jellyfishes, and also some conulariids and Sphenothallus, demonstrate the preservation of soft parts in the Hunsrück Slate. The spectacular first radially clustered conulariid-cluster from Bundenbach is also described in more detail.
